Coach Sam DiBitetto, a Hilton, New York native, joins the Greece Storm as Head Coach with a strong background in both coaching and competitive play. He began his high school years at Hilton before transferring to Northwood School in Lake Placid, where he continued his education and hockey development.
As a player, Coach DiBitetto competed locally in the Rochester area until age 17, then played for Northwood School. From there, he moved on to play Division III hockey at Norwich University in Vermont, where he was part of a team that reached the national championship finals in 2019. He later transferred to SUNY Brockport, continuing his collegiate hockey career while earning a degree in physical education.
On the coaching side, Coach DiBitetto has been involved with Lakeshore Hockey Academy since 2016 as a skills coach and has served as the academy’s director since 2020. He has also coached at the collegiate level as an assistant at SUNY Brockport and worked as a hockey advisor for youth players in the area. Outside of hockey, he is a physical education teacher at Greece Athena.
Coach DiBitetto’s philosophy focuses on developing players both on and off the ice. He emphasizes creating a positive team culture and building strong habits that extend beyond the rink—helping players grow not just as athletes, but as people.
